Cold Season Aid

Approximately 14 700 083 socially vulnerable persons/families from Chisinau municipality benefit from the National Program of Social Aid and Cold Season Aid.

The right to social aid and/or aid for the cold period of the year benefits disadvantaged families if all adult members of the family fall into at least one of the following situations:

a) they have reached retirement age;
b) they are persons classified as disabled;
c) they are unemployed registered with the territorial employment agency and do not refuse to participate in activities of community interest;
d) they are on sick leave for pregnancy or are caring for a child up to the age of 3;
e) are caring for a family member(s) who, for health reasons, requires care from a third person;
f) earn income from wages, entrepreneurial activity or activities related to the use of agricultural land;
g) have worked as day laborers.

In the period 2020-2022, during the cold period of the year 44 846 persons/families received cold period aid of about 140 million lei, means allocated from the state budget.
