Healthcare during the pandemic period

During the pandemic period caused by the new coronavirus COVID-19, Chisinau City Hall and DGAMS mobilized practically all municipal clinical hospitals in the treatment circuit.

- 70% of the COVID beds in the country went to municipal clinical hospitals (70% of COVID patients in the republic were treated in municipal hospitals);

- The COVID-19 Centre at Moldexpo was created with a capacity of 450 beds, including 36 Intensive Care beds (the largest COVID hospital in the republic and the best practice of the Republic of Moldova for triage and treatment of the new coronavirus infection);

- The number of beds in Reanimation and Intensive Care has been increased 4 times;

- The Municipal Hospital for Contagious Diseases for Children has been activated as the only COVID pediatric hospital in the country;

- The Municipal Maternity Hospital no. 2 was reorganized into the only COVID maternity hospital in the country;

- JIRA Software - the only digital application for remote monitoring of patients with COVID-19 by family physicians undergoing treatment at home (application developed by Chisinau City Hall and DGAMS);

- The only Municipal Vaccination Centre was inaugurated;

- Organized 70 Vaccination Points in Chisinau and suburban localities;

- Daily vaccination capacity in Chisinau municipality - 5000 persons;

- Organized Municipal Vaccination Marathons with about 4000 persons vaccinated per day;

- Mobile vaccination points (bus and trolleybus) - best practice projects of anti-COVID vaccination at regional level.
