Evacuation of the stalls in the capital's sectors
Description
1679 street stalls were evicted from the Capital's districts between 2019 and May 2023.
Most of the street trading units were abandoned, many were selling alcohol illegally or had expired location schemes.
Thus, during the mentioned period, from the streets and block yards of Chisinau municipality were evacuated:
Buiucani sector - 277 stalls
Ciocana sector - 341 stalls
Centre sector - 246 stalls
Botanica sector - 372 stalls
Riscani sector - 443 stalls.
We would like to remind that in 2020, the Chisinau City Hall has developed the Regulation on the conduct of commercial activity in the Capital and the Regulation on the organization of tenders for obtaining the right to conclude a contract on the location of a street trading unit on the territory of the city.
This measure has made the city look airier and more landscaped, and the new locations are won by tender.
The Chisinau City Hall therefore concludes contracts with the economic agents, who pay the amount into the municipal budget and have the right to trade for a period of 5 years.
