Rehabilitation of "Dumitru Riscanu" Park

After decades of neglect, Dumitru Rîșcanu Park on Braniștii Street has once again become the heart of the Rîșcani sector, with leisure areas and spaces dedicated to sports and recreation.

The modernization of this park, one of the largest green spaces in Chișinău, with an area of over 6 hectares, was carried out in stages. If just a few years ago the park was in a deplorable state, today this place has been reborn and has become an attraction point for the residents of the capital.

Chișinău City Hall has built an ultramodern Sports Complex, unique in the Republic of Moldova. The area offers football, beach volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, padel, kickboxing, fitness spaces, as well as comfortable showers, restrooms, and changing rooms.

The new sports space is intended for both children and adults, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle. I invite all residents to come here, exercise, spend time together, and enjoy the new facilities offered by Chișinău City Hall.

So far, the following works have been completed as part of the park’s modernization process:

• Rehabilitation and creation of new pedestrian alleys

• New connections between the Rîșcani and Ciocana sectors

• Access stairs from the alleys to the lake

• Jogging track around the lake

• Bicycle track

• Modernization of the embankments

• Installation of a new public lighting system

• Placement of urban furniture

• Tree trimming and cleaning

• Playgrounds for children

• Installation of chess tables

• Lake cleaning

• Beach arrangement

• Installation of a new sanitary facility and removal of the old one on Braniștii Street

• Modernization of the “Amusement Park”

• Repair of Braniștii Street near the park, including road and sidewalk rehabilitation

• Creation of public parking spaces

During the summer season, the park hosts various cultural and artistic events.

Chișinău City Hall is investing in the city’s infrastructure and creating public spaces that were neglected for years. Dumitru Rîșcanu Park is not just a place for recreation, but a symbol of the city’s development, a space where families can spend quality time, children can play safely, and sports enthusiasts can continue their activities in a properly arranged environment.
