The pedestrian crossing on Miorita Street 2, Telecentru neighborhood, has been redesigned to enhance the safety of pedestrians as well as drivers.
The works involved the application of red-white contrast road markings and the creation of a refuge space for pedestrians, delineated by bollards and additional signs. All these modifications complement the intermittent yellow traffic light.
The action was carried out by the General Directorate for Urban Mobility of the Chisinau City Hall, in collaboration with and with the material support of the Automobile Club of Moldova, which is actively involved in various traffic safety projects.
In the near future, within the same project, Chisinau City Hall plans to implement similar solutions at the intersection of Hincești Road with Academiei Street, as well as at the intersection of Independentei and Teilor Streets.
It is worth mentioning that 5 pedestrian crossings of this type have previously been set up on Calea Iesilor Street, one of them (in the area of „N. Dadiani” High School) being realized with the support of the Automobile Club of Moldova.
