To prevent traffic jams during peak hours, a yellow road marking has been reapplied at the intersection of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard and Alexandr Pușkin Street, delimiting the intersection area. Its purpose is to remind drivers of their obligation not to block the intersection, even when the traffic light is green — a prohibition stipulated by the Road Traffic Regulations.
Such markings have been used before in Chișinău, including at this same intersection of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, as well as on Ion Creangă Street, where they were applied after the street’s major renovation. The return to this solution is motivated by its proven effectiveness in improving traffic flow and increasing driver discipline at busy intersections.
