Modernization of public lighting

Between 2020 and 2023, street lighting on dozens of streets in the capital has been upgraded, with a total length of 75.5 km of network.

The Municipal Electric Lighting Network Enterprise "LUMTEH" carried out the following spectrum of works:

- repair, installation and modernization of the public lighting system on dozens of streets, as well as in several parks, green areas and alleys;

- repair and maintenance of street lighting in the suburbs;

- modernization of lighting at more than 160 pedestrian crossings;

- modernization of lighting outside and inside underpasses;

- modernization of lighting in block yards;

- modernization of lighting at accesses to educational institutions;

- interventions at citizens' requests, received on the eu.chisinau.md platform.

In the framework of the modernization and maintenance works of the electrical lighting networks, LED lighting fixtures were used, which considerably reduce the consumption of electricity.

At the same time, during the period under review, the system for directing and controlling public lighting was also improved, with the purchase and installation of about 345 control blocks, with which half of the city's power points were equipped. The equipment is controlled by default and makes the company's work more efficient.

More than 55 million lei were invested in all the work and equipment procurement.
