Christmas presents for the little ones

More than 30 thousand children attending kindergartens in Chisinau receive free Christmas presents every year through an initiative launched by the Chisinau City Hall and the Directorate General for Education, Youth and Sport.

On the eve of Christmas 2020, 30 thousand 700 children enrolled in kindergartens in Chisinau and its suburbs enjoyed the gifts purchased from the municipality's funds. Each gift contained assorted biscuits and sweets worth 25 lei. The gifts were purchased from the municipal budget, for which 768,475 thousand lei were allocated.

Before the winter holidays in 2021, the General Department of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council distributed over 31,326 gifts worth 751,824 lei to children in kindergartens.
Also in 2022, the municipal authorities made sure that no child in Chisinau would be left without a Christmas gift, with over 32,000 gifts being distributed.
