With a length of approximately 2.5 km and a width of 28 meters, the promenade used to be a dull area with an impractical sidewalk, worn-out benches, and no hint of color. Today, the alley stretching along the boulevard has become the main meeting point for all residents of the district—and not only for them.
The promenade came to life after the municipality launched a large-scale rehabilitation project in 2020. Renovation was carried out in several stages, by sectors, starting with the repair of pedestrian accesses, replacement of the asphalt layer on the main walkway, and the construction of a bicycle lane.
The works continued with the creation of children’s play areas, spaces for sports activities, and recreational zones for young people, including free internet access. The protective fence was restored, green areas were arranged, trees, shrubs, and flowers were planted, and urban furniture was installed: chairs, waste bins, and dedicated spaces for bicycle parking.
The entire promenade features nighttime and decorative lighting, an irrigation system, and around 40 video surveillance cameras to ensure residents’ safety. Another attraction for both children and adults is the set of swings.
Throughout the year, thematic fairs and cultural-artistic events are organized along the promenade.
