Low-income Chisinau residents were able to vaccinate their pets through a municipal project.
In 2022, the Chisinau City Hall granted free services from the municipal budget for people with modest incomes who have pets.
The services provided to each owner included sterilization, vaccination of the animal against rabies and installation of the chip. The owners were also issued free veterinary passports for their pets.
The project aims to prevent uncontrolled breeding and eradicate rabies.
The
estimated number of animals vaccinated and sterilised by 1 September 2022 was
2800, including about 1900 cats and 900 dogs.
