183 trolleybuses purchased

Between 2020 and 2025, 183 new and second-hand trolleybuses were purchased by the municipality to expand and modernize the fleet of the Chișinău Electric Transport Company (RTEC).

Of these, 85 units were assembled directly in the RTEC workshop, including classic, articulated, and autonomous-drive trolleybuses, adapted to current urban mobility needs.

The second-hand trolleybuses come from high-performance, well-recognized European models: Škoda 24 Tr, VDL Phileas, Van Hool, Ganz Solaris Trollino 18.

The new units are equipped with modern facilities to ensure passenger comfort and safety:

• advanced air conditioning system;

• access ramps for people with disabilities;

• low-floor design throughout the vehicle;

• USB sockets for charging mobile devices;

• modern passenger information systems and video surveillance cameras.

For these important acquisitions, Chișinău City Hall allocated around 280 million lei, confirming its commitment to providing residents of the capital with safe, accessible, and modern public transport
