Contact network construction, Columna Street

A new contact line, 2.2 km long, has been built on Columna Street, on the segment between M. G. Banulescu-Bodoni and V. Alecsandri. At the same time, the road was repaired and pavements were laid, street lighting in the area was restored and a waiting station was installed.

More than 8 million lei were allocated from the municipal budget for these works. The implementation of the project started in 2020, and in the summer of 2021 the line was put into operation with the launch of a new trolleybus route, connecting the Poșta Veche neighborhood and the Botanica sector.

Trolleybus route no. 28, named "Ceucari Street - Trolleybus Park no. 2", was created in response to numerous requests from residents of the Poșta Veche district, where route no. 25 was not meeting demand, although it had been supplemented by articulated units.

At the same time, the newly built contact network allows the other trolleybus routes to bypass the Great National Assembly Square when various social, cultural or sporting events are taking place.
