Modernization of the Urban Bus Fleet
Description
In addition to the purchase by the Municipality of mun. Chisinau of three batches of buses (100 new and 74 with a long distance) to replace the old, technically outdated transport units, special attention has also been paid in the last three years to the conditions in which the employees of the Municipal Enterprise "Parcul Urban de Autobuze" (PUA) work.
Since it started operating, the company has not undergone any repairs and the premises are in a disastrous state. So far, the PUA administration, with the financial support of the municipality, has managed to rehabilitate the technical service rooms in the production sector for checking and diagnosing buses, to repair the fuel station and the heating sector of the buses, the hall and workshops for repairing transport units and to build its own station for technical testing of transport units. In addition, the production sector has had its windows replaced and lighting upgraded, and the roofs of the production, administrative and laundry blocks have been repaired. The company's grounds have also been landscaped and video surveillance cameras installed.
For the comfort of the workers, the shower rooms and changing rooms have been renovated, the heating block has been repaired, the water, sewage, heating and electrical networks have been replaced, the ventilation system has been installed, and water heating boilers have been purchased and installed. The adjacent areas were also repaired.
For these and other modernization works, in 2020-2022 PUA spent 11 million lei from its own budget and 13.5 million lei from the municipal budget.
