Anti-COVID-19 measures, Central Market

Chisinau City Hall coordinated an important project for the local community by implementing anti-COVID-19 public health measures in the Central Market. 

The project included a number of essential actions, such as:

- providing disinfectant solutions at the entrances to the market;
- providing liquid soap and disinfectant at each washroom;
- thermometry at the entrance to the market;
- providing personal protective equipment for traders.

The area has also been made more sanitary and disinfection and pest control  has been carried out regularly. In addition, a medical worker has been employed to keep track of the health of the employees during their work and a triage room (Medical Point) has been set up in the weighing room of the "Vegetables" sector of the Central Market.

These necessary and obligatory measures have been ensured in order to cope with the process of prevention and control of infection with the new type COVID-19 virus and, respectively, the continuation of the activity in the markets managed by the M.E. Piata Centrala.

The project therefore made an important contribution to ensuring the health and safety of visitors and staff working in the Central Market.
