Traction substations

In order to improve the efficiency and safety of traction substations and the contact network, significant investment has been made in their maintenance and modernisation in the period 2020-2022.

Thus, 25 tons of MF85 wire and indispensable components for the contact network were purchased, 2000 meters of underground electric cable were replaced and 4 traction substations were upgraded at a total cost of 13.2 million lei.  

A Feasibility Study on the modernisation of traction substations was also carried out in 2022, on the basis of which the investment profile for the first 5 traction substations in urgent need of investment was developed. 

For 2023 it is planned to modernise 4 traction substations and the contact network, which will require investments of 56 million lei. At the same time, 4 intersections are to be adapted to improve traffic service.
