Extension of blvd. Mircea cel Batran

In 2022 the project "Extinderea bd. Mircea cel Batran, cu prelungirea liniei de troleibuze pana la str. Bucovinei", carried out by IMP "Chisinauproiect".  

The project foresees the continuation of the boulevard section, previously built in the perimeter of Igor Vieru - Prof. Ion Dumeniuc streets, up to Bucovinei Street, with the extension of the trolleybus line.

It will include:

- Two one-way traffic lanes, each with 3 lanes. These will be separated by a green area (boulevard), with a sidewalk in the middle and a bike path;

- Technical and pedestrian sidewalks, as well as green area on both sides of the roadway;

- Roundabout at the intersection of bd. Mircea cel Batran and Bucovinei str., where the roadway will have two lanes and additional lanes for right turns, separated by guide islands for traffic fluidity;

- The dispatching station and trolleybus parking area at the intersection with Prof. Ion Dumeniuc str. will be dismantled and moved to a new location, which will simultaneously accommodate 34 transport units - trolleybuses and buses;

- The street lighting system will be built on the new road segment.

The construction of the new boulevard section is to be carried out over 3 years, after the public tender for the works. The total estimated cost of the works is 237 million lei. 

For the design works, including the irrigation system and contact network, coordination and verification of the projects, 3 280 942 lei were spent from the municipal budget.
