Rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment station

Investments in the rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment plant are necessary to protect the environment and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants.

In order to operate efficiently and to reduce pollutant emissions into the air and water, the Chisinau Wastewater Treatment Station requires maintenance and upgrading by replacing outdated equipment and technologies with newer and more energy and environmentally efficient ones.

In addition to the construction of the new sludge treatment line, which has been carried out in recent years thanks to BERD and BEI loans, "Apa-Canal Chisinau" SA is investing from its own sources to ensure a continuous maintenance process of the station.

Thus, two storage tanks were rebuilt in order to completely isolate sludge with membranes, sludge dewatering equipment was installed, and in order to eliminate odor, dosing devices were installed and reagents were purchased for stabilizing dewatered sludge in centrifuges.

For these works, the company allocated more than 20 million lei.
