The “Valentin Ignatenco” Municipal Clinical Hospital is one of the most important pediatric institutions in the country, rehabilitated and equipped in recent years with municipal and international support.
Built in 1986, the hospital has 294 beds and provides around 50,000 consultations annually, of which 15,000 require hospitalization. It serves children from the entire municipality of Chișinău, 18 suburbs, and across the country.
The Emergency Department has been modernized, with specialized red and yellow zones, and the entire hospital benefits from an IT system that optimizes medical processes. In recent years, several departments have been renovated — intensive care, orthopedics, and neurosurgery.
The hospital hosts the only pediatric microsurgery department in the country, which still requires renovation, along with the operating block — works that will be carried out as soon as possible. It also includes modern rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and physical medicine departments, and a day hospital is planned. Thanks to the energy efficiency project implemented here, the hospital has achieved up to 40% resource savings.
Every department is equipped with play areas and age-appropriate facilities for children.
Health remains a priority.
Chișinău City Hall has been directly involved in recent years in the modernization of municipal medical institutions, aiming to bring them to international standards — a goal that is successfully being achieved.
