Description

In the Ciocana district, at 4/3 Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard, the “Ciocana” Square with an amphitheatre was created from scratch. The works started in 2022 and were completed in 2024.

According to the project, retaining walls for the amphitheatre and the stage were built, the stairs leading to the “Gaudeamus” Theoretical Lyceum were repaired, and access ramps for people with special needs were arranged. At the same time, sidewalks were paved, video surveillance cameras were installed, and a public lighting system was set up.

An irrigation system, modern urban furniture, three children’s playgrounds, two fitness areas, a chess space, and a LEGO playground were also installed.

Later, new species of trees and shrubs were planted in the area, beautifully complementing the urban landscape around the amphitheatre.

Several educational institutions are located nearby, including the “Dacia,” “Orizont,” and “Gaudeamus” lyceums, as well as several kindergartens and residential buildings.

The amphitheatre hosts various open-air cultural and artistic events.
