Free travel on public transport

The free travel insurance program on public transport targets older people and people with average disabilities who are in difficult financial situations and need support to get around the city.

Through the program, these people are entitled to receive compensation or free public transport passes.

Between 2020 and 2022, around 70 thousand people have benefited from this program.

The budget allocated by the City Council during that period was 166 630 000 lei.

However, as of July 2022, the program has been discontinued, as a new travel methodology has been approved, which includes free travel on the basis of a pensioner's card.
