Capital repair of Ion Creanga Street

Ion Creanga Street, one of the most important connecting arteries between the Centre and Buiucani sectors of Chisinau, has been undergoing capital repairs. Since it was put into service, it has only undergone routine maintenance.

The works started in autumn 2020, with the replacement of all underground networks, the arrangement of sidewalks, the evacuation of the bus shelters and the repair of adjacent areas, the repair of the roadway and the installation of a new street lighting system, as well as the repair of the roundabouts at the Unirii Principatelor Square and Dimitrie Cantemir Square. At the same time, the accesses to the courtyards of the residential blocks were repaired and waiting stations were set up.

As the street is a busy one, considerable efforts have been made to complete the works ahead of the terms of the contract - March 2022. This made it possible to reopen the street to traffic in September 2021, 5 months earlier.

67 million lei were spent to achieve this objective.
