Sports Lyceum "Gloria", energy efficiency

The high school building was thermally rehabilitated and solar panels were installed to make energy consumption more efficient.

The works were carried out in the framework of the project "Eficienta energetica si reabilitarea termica a institutiilor educationale din municipiul Chisinau", implemented by the Chisinau City Hall in 19 educational institutions, with the support of the BERD and BEI.

The aim of the project is to make energy consumption more efficient and to monitor the whole process in schools and kindergartens. Several studies have shown that such projects considerably reduce building maintenance costs.

The following works were carried out over a year and a half:

- Thermal insulation of the walls;
- Thermal insulation of the roof;
- Replacement of the joinery;
- Rehabilitation of the heat distribution systems;
- Upgrading of the interior lighting system;
- Installation of the photovoltaic system.

The value of the investment was 33 000 000 lei.
