Additional band on Calea Orheiului

In order to smooth traffic flow in the intersection, an additional traffic lane was built in 2022, which currently ensures the flow of cars turning right from Calea Orheiului towards Studentilor Street.

The works involved the construction of 860 m2 of new carriageway and 760 m2 of pedestrian pavement, as well as two pedestrian refuge islands. The waiting station on Studentilor Street was also modernized. The works cost 3.4 million lei.

The traffic lights at the intersection towards Stauceni have also been modernized, and the routing system has been partially modified to match the new traffic lane.

In this context, the underground wiring network around the entire perimeter of the intersection was changed, and the old traffic lights were replaced by new LED traffic lights, which were transferred from electric pylons to a separate console. At the same time, LED traffic lights with timers for pedestrians were installed.

The next turning lane is to be built from Socoleni Street to Calea Orheiului Street.
